Dave enjoys working through complex technological and legal issues for clients. Dave has prepared patent applications and prosecuted patents in many technical areas, such as computer-networking, semiconductor manufacturing, and Internet-related technologies.

Before joining Snyder, Clark, Lesch & Chung, Dave was an associate at Harrity Snyder, LLP. Dave was also a Patent Examiner in an electrical group at the U. S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). At the USPTO, he examined patent applications related to artificial intelligence, computer networks, and telecommunications. In addition, he worked at the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) as a Computer Scientist, maintaining networks and servers. David has extensive experience in writing computer programs and brings his deep understanding of computer software to his patent practice.

Prior to working at the USPTO, Dave worked at Stanford Telecommunications, Inc. as a Senior Engineer. While there, he worked on technically challenging projects, including mathematically modeling conditions that affect communication channels (e.g., weather conditions), simulating a Viterbi decoder and evaluating its effect on robustness of a communication channel, writing programs to compute probabilities of acquiring a signal from a Tracking and Data Relay Satellite System (TDRSS), selecting pseudo-noise (PN) codes to be supplied to Japanese Space Agency and European Space Agency for use in satellite systems, and conducting studies of a K-band return-link channel for Space Station Freedom.
